Introducing “Life’s a Vacuum”
In this first blog post, I would like to introduce the world to Lone Penguin Studios, first game, “Life’s a vacuum”. Life’s a vacuum is a game that very firmly belongs in the simulator/cozy gaming part of the world. While there is a focus on simulation, the core moment to moment gameplay is more about the fun and relaxation of simply vacuuming.
In this game, you are starting your career as a vacuum cleaner. You start with your trusty vacuum and hand vacuum cleaning houses and eventually work your way up the corporate ladder and start cleaning larger and more exciting locations like restaurants, museums, and even corporate offices. Eventually you get better vacuums with different strength levels, battery level, etc and invest in a better hand vacuum to help you clean.
Other than cleaning there are sub-objectives in each level encouraging you to find different strategies and ways to play. Such as tracking how much energy you use, being quicker, finding lost objects, placing all the furniture back as you found it. There are all kinds of sub-objectives and different types of dirt to clean to keep things fun and varied. In the following dev logs I will go more in depth on all of the different gameplay elements and design choices made in the game. But for now in this blog post I simply just wanted to announce to the world that this game is in development and hopefully coming to your devices one day. I leave you with the very first screenshot of life’s a vacuum:
